Tatarskaya Sloboda and the Chak-Chak Museum.

A place where you can get acquainted with the traditions and culture of the Tatars, taste national cuisine and halal food, buy national Tatar shoes (ichigi) made using the "leather mosaic" technique, kalyapush (women's headdress), skullcaps, try dairy and meat products, visit craftsmen's shops and admire the national architecture. Here you will see small wooden painted houses, those that have been carefully preserved by the history of Kazan and its inhabitants. It is also a place where you can explore the city's merchant estates, visit ancient mosques, listen to national music and, if you're lucky, hear the azan - a call to prayer that is heard from the minarets of mosques.
